This weekend I had the joy of photographing my dear friend Molly and her beautiful baby, Hannah. Such sweet, chubby cheeks and legs. Soft, silky skin. Sweet baby perfection!

Penny – Bellingham Newborn Photographer

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing newborn Penelope. Her parent’s call her Penny…but her two year old sister? Well, she can’t quite say Penelope so she has settled on “Lemon Pea” instead. How cute is that?bellingham-newborn-photographer-1

I absolutely love doing in-home newborn sessions. I love the challenge of not knowing quite what I am up against with lighting and furniture arrangements. And I love how personal the sessions end up being when the photos are taken in-home.

Last weekend I had the priveledge of photographing Liam on his first birthday! He as an absolute doll and I enjoyed getting to know him. This is what Liam’s mom had to say about him:

“Liam is now a year and one of the happiest little boys I’ve ever met. He has a seizure disorder that has caused some drastic delays. Everyday he wakes up and smiles and I know it will be a great day because he is my little fighter. I am so proud to call Liam my son.”superhero-project-liam-2 superhero-project-liam-3 superhero-project-liam-4 superhero-project-liam-5

Arianna {Bellingham Birth Photography}

I got to know Jessica and Mike a bit before their baby’s birth. Initially we me up for coffee and to discuss birth photography. Later on Jessica and I became friends on Facebook and I was happy to get to “know” her a bit more that way. It helped the anticipation build up even more for little Gummy Bear’s birth. By the way, isn’t Gummy Bear the cutest nickname ever?birth-photography-1

When I arrived for Arianna’s birth a smile crossed my face as soon as I entered the room. They had it decorated with clothing, a teddy bear and books. So much love for one little baby!birth-photography-2

I always feel so honored to be present a birth. Couples invite me into one of the most special, personal days of their life.  I do my best to be a “fly on the wall” and simple document what is happening.birth-photography-4 birth-photography-5

Everyone bundled up here is photographic proof of how cold Jessica wanted the room during her labor!birth-photography-6

Jessica worked and long and hard during her labor. She was amazingly strong and calm. Little Arianna though wasn’t positioned quite right and it eventually it became apparent that a c-section was necessary. Mike and doula Christi, of Natural Birth Offerings, were both able to go back into the OR with Jessica. I headed home for some sleep and went back the next day to capture Arianna’s beautiful face. birth-photography-7 birth-photography-8 birth-photography-9

Cam is a sweet and loving 4 year old. He has many delays in speech and motor development, well as sensory issues. Despite all of the challenges that he faces, he is a happy and friendly boy, who loves cars (especially Lightning McQueen), his mom and dad, and idolizes his big sister Emily.  Although it isn’t always the easiest to parent him, it is very easy to love him. He is continually teaching me and making me grow into a better and stronger person.cameron-superhero-3superhero-cameron-1Emily is a Super Sister to her little brother, Cameron. superhero-cameron-2 superhero-cameron-4To see more of The Superhero Project, please check out my Superhero Project page.
