LIfestyle newborn photos by Bellingham newborn photographer Renee Bergeron.
You’ll have to excuse Malachi, he’s new here. But honestly, he seems to know his way around.
I took maternity photos for Kristina (owner of Safe and Sound Doula) back in December. You can see her chilly maternity session here. After a wild ride of ups and downs, Malachi made his grand arrival in early January.
When I first began newborn photography back in 2009 I was very into posing babies but over the years I have found that the images that speak to me the most, both as a mother and artist, are the moments in between.
The newborn stage, while it seems endless when you are in the midst of it, is really such a short time in your child’s life. I’ve had nine babies myself so I know exactly how overwhelming the waves of diapers and blankets and spit up and crying can be.
But I also know that babies grow up; and quickly.
So when I am invited in to a home to photograph newborns I try to capture it all. The sweet moments of calm.
The wild moments with crazy toddlers.
And all of the teeny tiny details of life with a newborn.
I have the honor of watching families grow and change.
I am the silent witness of new relationships formed.
This little guy is wildly in love with his daddy already.
He stared deep into his daddy’s eyes, taking in every word he had to say.
Babies grow and change so fast.
My job is to document them along the way.
Congratulations Kristina and Shawn. It has been an honor to watch your family grow.
