Surprise Marriage Proposal at Elizabeth Park

Suprise wedding proposal in December.

My son Judah and his girlfriend Celeste have been dating for two years. They met at Judah’s sister’s birthday party a few years ago and hit it off immediately. Judah was in the middle of Trooper Basic Training and didn’t have time for dating or distractions and Celeste was working on her degree from Western Washington University.

Eventually, however, Judah graduated from Trooper Basic and finally had time for a relationship.

Celeste graduated from WWU in spring 2021 and took graduation photos as well as couples photos of the two of them. Our family has enjoyed watching their relationship grow over the past two years.

Judah just finished up his Master’s Degree Criminal Justice earlier this month and with that out of the way, and no more distractions, he decided it was time to propose. Judah asked me to photograph his surprise proposal and I jumped at the chance. Even if it was only 36 degrees out!

The couple was headed out to celebrate Judah’s Master’s Degree so they were all dressed up. I managed to position myself behind a tree while Judah suggested they take their coats off so they could take a photo of themselves in the park…

I was able to capture the moment she said yes and saw her ring for the first time.

Despite the cold winter weather, Judah and Celeste managed to pose for a few more photos.

We are so happy for you two! Welcome to the family, Celeste.
